All the More Reason to Adventure to Dominica

If you haven’t entered the Adventure to Dominica contest yet, then do it now! Go here to learn more about the contest, and to enter. But why, exactly, should you enter? And what does a contest for a trip to Dominica have to do with sustainable, eco-friendly travel?

The island of Dominica happens to be an extremely environmentally friendly travel destination because many of its sites are targeted for conservation, and can be reached without negatively impacting the land. Adding to that, its Morne Trois Pitons National Park is a veritable playground for travelers who want to see natural wonders, and who want to get there by foot without negatively impacting the places they want to see. The National Park is described by the following:

“Luxuriant natural tropical forest blends with volcanic features of high scenic appeal and scientific interest… With its precipitous slopes and deeply-incised valleys, fifty fumaroles and hot springs, freshwater lakes, a “boiling lake” and five volcanoes…together with the richest biodiversity in the Lesser Antilles, Morne Trois Pitons National Park presents a rare combination of natural features of World Heritage value. ”
