Armed with an outrigger canoe and a few necessary goods, Margo Pellegrino began paddling on July 3rd, which commenced her trip from Seattle to San Diego designed as a call to action for the health of the world’s oceans. Pellegrino hopes that by paddling through the Pacific she’ll effectively speak out for the oceans and their need for healing. “An effective public education campaign is critical for advancing strong ocean policy. We need to ensure that healthy oceans policy is buoyed from what legislators hear from their constituents. As a project of the Blue Frontier Campaign, what I am planning to accomplish is speaking out for the oceans,” Pellegrino says.
