The news that chemicals and obesity causes premature puberty in girls is the latest of thousands of red flags waving high above our food production and consumption status quo. Of course, things are changing, but are they changing fast enough?

Nope. The only thing changing quickly is the level of toxicity in our children.

“The news that chemicals and obesity causes premature puberty in girls…”

Wow, that’s quite an exaggeration of what that story from the NYTimes says. Here’s a quote: “Some researchers also suspect that environmental chemicals that mimic the effects of estrogen may be speeding up the clock on puberty, but that idea is unproved.”

The story also says there is continuing scientific debate about whether early puberty is even happening.

We all worry about our kids and want to do the best for them, doesn’t help to have folks misrepresent our current understanding the science around food consumption and safety.
