The above video is a reminder that we need to get back to our roots… as human beings. Ones that eat whole fruits and vegetables from a young age on. Ultimately, this video is a preview for a (potentially) crappy show, but ignore that and marvel at the sampling of students who can’t determine tomatoes from potatoes, or eggplant from… egg salad. If you get nothing from this video other than a good laugh, at least consider the heavily processed world that we live in — and how we should really work to change it — for our bodies and our earth. The Obama Administration announced today that it is forming a new agency dedicated to studying global warming. With a rapidly warming planet, polar melting, rising sea levels and all of that other nasty stuff that climate change promises to offer, Obama has expressed concern for America to become a leader in cleaner technologies.

The new Climate Service — as Commerce Secretary Gary Locke  referred to it — will work with the National Weather Service and National Ocean Service branches of the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Together, they will provide easy access to climate information.

While recent surveys have shown that public concern over global warming has dropped significantly, a new study shows that a majority of Americans — regardless of political affiliation — support federal climate and energy policy.

The results of the survey, which were just released by Yale and George Mason Universities, reveal that 85 percent of Americans support funding more research on solar and wind power, 70 percent want children to be taught about the causes, consequences, and possible solutions to climate change in school, and 82 percent support tax rebates for people that purchase fuel-efficient vehicles or solar panels.

Regardless of the fact that China is not convinced about the causes of climate change and the human role, they are leading in the switch to clean energy. According to the New York Times, the country is the the world’s largest producer of wind turbines and solar panels.

During President Obama’s State of the Union speech last week, he addressed China’s lead and said that it is time for America to step up. He told Congress:

“I do not accept a future where the jobs and industries of tomorrow take root beyond our borders — and I know you don’t either.”
